The Short-Term Storage as a Buffer Memory Between Long-Term Storage and the Motor System? Not Exactly

چکیده

This study reports a replication and extension of Ulrich Dietz (1985) on the possible role short-term storage (STS) as buffer memory between long-term (LTS) motor system in free recall tasks. STS would allow for parallel unfolding search LTS output responses by temporarily storing retrieved items until their final production. In study, this view was examined against alternative hypothesis whereby fast initial production relies controlled or “strategic” rather than accrual STS. two independent replications, 54 native German language speakers 39 Bosnian performed letter verbal fluency task under manipulation preload (no vs. preload) delay interval (1 sec 10 presentation target signal start recall). Contrary to assumption memory, results revealed that did not cancel out effect delay. Accordingly, were interpreted context models.

Angiotensin modulates long-term memory expression but not long-term memory storage in the crab Chasmagnathus.

Memory reconsolidation is a dynamic process in which a previously consolidated memory becomes labile following reactivation by a reminder. In a previous study in the crab Chasmagnathus memory model, we showed that a water-shortage episode, via angiotensin modulation during reconsolidation, could reveal a memory that otherwise remains unexpressed: weakly trained animals cannot reveal long-term m...

the effect of lexical and grammatical collocation instruction through input flooding versus awareness raising on short-term and delayed retention as well a active use

this study attempted to explore if teaching english collocations through two different modes of awareness-raising and input flooding has any possible differential effect on immediate retention as well as retention in a delayed assessment. it also compared the possible differential effect of teaching english collocations implicitly and explicitly on actively using the items in writing. m...

Using electrophysiology to demonstrate that cueing affects long-term memory storage over the short term.

As researchers who study working memory, we often assume that participants keep a representation of an object in working memory when we present a cue that indicates that the object will be tested in a couple of seconds. This intuitively accounts for how well people can remember a cued object, relative to their memory for that same object presented without a cue. However, it is possible that thi...
